Who we are
Aussies R Us (https://aussiesrus.com.au) is an Australian information website about solar and home batteries. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Contact and quote forms: name, email, and (for quote requests) phone, postcode, and consent records. Message text if you use the contact form.
- Server and security logs: IP address, user agent, and basic request metadata via Cloudflare, used for security, rate limiting, and diagnosing faults. We do not use these logs to build marketing profiles.
- Analytics: Cloudflare Web Analytics (privacy-oriented, no advertising cookies from that beacon alone).
- Advertising: if Google AdSense or similar is enabled, those providers may set cookies or use identifiers subject to their own policies.
How we use information
- To respond to contact messages
- To process quote requests and connect you with installers or quoting partners (when that service is active)
- To secure the site and prevent spam (including Cloudflare Turnstile)
- To understand aggregate traffic and improve content
Quote leads and sharing with partners
When you submit a quote request and tick the consent box, you agree that Aussies R Us and up to three installers or quoting partners may contact you by phone, SMS or email about your request. Lead details may be shared with those partners for that purpose — this is how a future quote-referral revenue line would work. We use a CRM workflow (GoHighLevel or equivalent) to store and route submissions.
We will not sell your contact details for unrelated marketing lists. Partners must comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth): identifiable sender, consent basis, and a functional unsubscribe for marketing messages.
Cookies and ads
Essential delivery uses Cloudflare. Ad partners may use cookies or local storage. Affiliate links are commercial; they do not require your contact details by themselves.
Retention and security
Form submissions are retained as long as needed to fulfil the request, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes, then deleted or de-identified. We use HTTPS and provider access controls; no method of transmission is perfectly secure.
Access and correction
Email hello@aussiesrus.com.au to request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you are not satisfied with our response.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date above will change. Material changes affecting lead sharing will be reflected here before the public quote form is promoted in navigation.
